big-ass radiator debris protection

...hmmm...I noticed that the 10R's curved radiator is one huge exposed mofo...exposed and potential damage from road debris kicked up from that front tire...and potential modification by your gorilla knuckles when working between the inner fairings...

...does anyone make a protective screen for this bike, yet?...seems to be a few potential good attachment points available...Dino?...

Yep, took a look after our first track day and there is no doubt this thing needs a screen. Either the rad is very exposed frontally and/or the front fender is not long enough in the rear.

COX Racing, I think...not to be confused with the homotorcycle cock racers on the 12R-Zone side heading out to DealsGap

...just got off the phone and spoke with Andrew from www.coxracingroup.com ...he said the best way to get on the list is to order it on-line ...they will not charge your credit card until product is shipped ...he said four to eight weeks ...he said that he's been getting a lot of hits about the 10R ...I told him that some of us will roll our own with extruded mesh screen materials (like Dino did with his 12R) ...he said, "Hmmmm...that's interesting..." ...maybe that'll push development and production up a few notches for the 10R ...I'd hate to bugger up that expen$$$ive curved radiator ...I wish that Kawasaki would've already done it for us with an over-engineered piece ...I wouldn't mind paying another $25 for the bike to have it already installed upon delivery ...its a no-brainer item, doncha' think?

...uh...NO!....but I suppose I could roll my own with the guard, but I dunno how to get that 'finished' edge...and oh the hassle of pulling off the radiator if I didn't have to...$65 +shipping is worth it to me with this one

...but I the brown truck jsut delivered some 'stuff' this morning and it loo...ooops...I not supposed to talk about it...

Oh well, back to the raft...

Made a great rad guard from 1/8" hardware cloth tonight. Took 15 minutes and 4 zip ties and cost maybe 98¢. Fold the edges of the hardware cloth over for that factory finished look. Finished dimensions (dementia?) 13" x 13".

I had a brief conversation with Andrew yesterday regarding the 10r rad screens and he stated he has yet to get a bike available to him for some prototype work so the screens are...ummmmm a ways off.

...wassupwidat, lrg?...or are you talking about another bike?

...hey,BD...do they need the whole bike or can they just get away with the radiator to shape/form the screen?...I figure it could be "radiator only" cuz' it'll attach and fit closely and tightly to the radiator..wouldja know?...if its equitable, I might have a radiator I could ship out to them to expedite matters...y'know...for the team
