Just for your "weird FYI stuff"...
It's also the exact same filter used on a Yamaha R6 ('01-'02 models for sure).

K&N makes one with a 17mm bolt head that has a hole through it for safety wiring. Will have the part number later today.

That would be part # KN-204 sir..............the same one as the 12R...
The wifes R6 takes a KN-303..............kinda funny huh?
I am real leary about using ANY aftermarket oil filter on my bikes..........but I have to say the K&N oil filters are made very well and easy to use with the nut and safety wire hole already there.
Still.........for piece of mind...............
