UGH! - just got off the back of the ZX10-R I have been riding on the back with Fish_Antlers for about 10 years now - and of all the bikes I've been on the back of - this one is the DUMBEST!
He can't take it over 4 grand, because he is just breaking it in and even at these slow speeds I couldn't stay on it.
The angle of the seat combined with the height of the passenger pegs, made it impossible to keep from sliding down into him. I couldn't really put any weight on my feet. I resorted to holding on to him with my knees.
YEAH, that will be comfortable on a long ride, for BOTH of us. (I am so glad I ride my own bike!)
I thought the ZX12-R was dumb to have a passenger on, just because it had so much torque, if you weren't an experienced passenger, you would be thrown back off the bike.
I stayed on the ZX12-R, every time I got on the back of it, with Fish_Antlers seeming to take for granted that I would stay on no matter what type of stunting he tried.
The ZX10-R, 20 min. out on the Virgin run, I asked him to turn around and take me home.
I couldn't stay on it.
For a Happy Passsenger Rating - I give it a 1 star rating - out of 10.
If you are buying a ZX10-R don't try to tell the wife you are buying it for both of you, and that you will take her along for Sunday Morning rides up to that little breakfast place.
We know you don't really mean to take her along - you just want the bike.
Do yourself a favour, be honest with her, tell her it's not really meant for two up riding.
Spare yourself the bitchie wife ('cause she will be REALLY BITCHIE trying to hold on to the bike), leave her at home.
For a Bitchie Passenger rating - your looking at about an 11 out of 10.

As soon as I got mine home, I took off the side reflectors and passenger pegs. I will NEVER have a passenger on my ZX10.

I agree! Before I headed back to Korea, took wife for a slow ride. Came back around 40 minutes later. She asked if I was ok as I was asking here the same. She kept sliding into me and couldn't help it. It's hard for anyone to climb on board...look at the bikes rear end and think about it. It's one hell of a hike for a shorter person. I was using the sidewalk curb to help her out. She said it too, "that's a hard place to stay planted on".
fish, I too know the feeling, "ouch"
Driver area = 10
passesnger = 2, least it's got what looks like a seat and a place for feet,

Glad to hear! I don't like bitches riding on the back either. Next year if I get a 10...it's going to be the pure SOLO bike!
