zx10 prices Hi,I'm a newbie but plan on being around.I have been shopping the dealers and have gotten a quote out the door for 10k.How does this fall with others out there,I feel it is pretty good as most others have been closer to 11k.Now to decide green or orange? I already have a green zrx that I'm keeping so it might have to be orange?

When discussing OTD prices, please do not include taxes and tags. Otherwise, the numbers are not really comparable given the disparity in tax rates and licensing fees.
The best I found is $9750 OTD (no taxes). Thus, my on the road price will be $10350 or so (given 6% tax). And yes, my deposit is already down on the first green one. Yippeee!!!!

ELRWFO - If you have any problems getting a decent deal up there in the NW part of the state, try calling Brian at Kawasaki Sports Center in Little Rock. The number is 501-562-9448. I think Brian's extension is 208. The him Sherman suggested you call.

I already called Brian and they quoted me 10,999.When I say OTD,that is what I pay the dealer for the bike to take it home. The state has a personal property tax and of course tags.10k has all the other BS in it,setup, freight, etc.

OTD means "out the door". Include everything. Doesn't matter what the tax, tags, etc, differences are state to state. We all take that into account. Speaking for those of us in CA. It is reasonably common for us to go out-of-state for bikes, with those states being fairly close (ie; NV, AZ, OR, WA). Many reasons; tax, availability, registration, 49 state bikes, etc.

I also go out of state for my bikes and that's why I always need to go by the OTD price (w/o tax) when I'm calling around.
And, if someone on this site says they got their bike for, say $10,200, I wouldn't know if that is a good deal for me unless I knew the taxes and licensing fees in that state. Have you ever tried registering a bike in IN? They charge you based on the value of the bike! At least they used to when I went to school at IU.
But, if you tell me that you got your bike for $9,800 OTD (w/o taxes), then I can directly compare that with the prices I'm getting on the phone from any other dealer, in any other state. In 17 years of buying bikes across borders (state lines and country lines), I find this is the easiest way to compare prices.

I'll believe the $9999 OTD (all inclusive) price when someone actually rides a ZX-10R away from that shop for that amount. M/C Dealers are notorious for baiting you with prices like that, only to add something they "forgot" to mention.
The Honda/Kawasaki dealer of East Toledo (see cycletrader.com) isn't even near that price and they typically advertise lowball numbers. Hell, I've been jumping with joy to get one at $10,350 (all inclusive).
On the extended warranty, I say skip it if you have an ounce of mechanical ability. Any major failure will either occur within a year or not occur until way out. My experience with jap bikes is that you can really beat up on them without any reliability concerns assuming you got a good bike from the start.

That sucks the best deal I'm finding in AZ is $12K otd (w/taxes) He said it's something like 10,699 before taxes--no other charges (freight, prep, etc...)
Anyone know of anywhere in AZ/Nevada/NM/Ca (somewhere not too far) that I can check...the only good thing about that price above is that I am first on the list.

Check the Kaw dealer in Lake Havasu (Walt's Kawasaki) AZ. I drove out from CA to buy a ZRX11 when they first came out because his deal was the best (and actually they weren't available in CA yet).
I forget what the owner's sons name is, but they were good people.

I told my dealer that all I'm bringing is a cashier's check for 10K. That's an out of state price so no tax, etc. I also had him throw in the shop manual and rear seat cowl. If he wants more money when I get there, I walk.

Thanks.
Oh and Z72ZX I emailed you...but for others...I didn't go to Metro (heard bad things) and did check Kelly's but was told that with the bike being new and "hot" it will be hard to go under MSRP for the first batch.
