Cylinder Plating
Guyz is there any other companys that do cylinder plating in the us besides Millenium ?they have lost there minds on prices for a replating.

there must be a miscommunication somewhere.
I've had a buncha stuff done by them over the last 10 years, and never were their prices out of line; not even a lil bit.
how much were they off???

im sorry Doug its 690.00 plus shipping and another 104.00 to deck it =794 plus shipping all because of uniblock,

Yep the zx14 and gsxr-1000 are expensive to bore and plate.
Its a lot of work to do those compared to the Busa and zx12r.
US Chrome does them as well. But I don't think you will save anything.
We use MT but we final hone out the last .002" at our shop with special diamond tooling and a torque plate so the bores are round when the head is torqued.
The Busas and zx12r's don't have this issue due to design.

$104 for decking does seem a little high, especially if they're already set up to do the boring. It has been a few years since I had MT bore and replate my GSX-R1000, but it was close to $500 at the time.
I'm not sure if APE still uses MT or not, but their prices are as follows:
LC157 Bore and replate four cylinder with piston purchase 524.00
LC158 Bore and replate four cylinder with customer's pistons 575.00
LC350 Surface block or cylinder head 30.00

Hello,
I have used US Chrome Corp before and to date they did a fine on my 12. According to them they were the originals and Millinium split and moved down the street and opened another company. I believe Scott is the owner and is more than fair on price. Thier number is 920-922-5066. Hope this helps.

Well LEW since 07 iv had this motor bored 2milled over for nos pistons and sprayed it a lot ,so when i went turbo this year i had it honed and installed turbo pistons,Chris installed the boost controller and mapped it ,at the end of this season i started to use the bc and misjudged the second stage settings a blew the turbo clean off the header,Chris fixed it right away installed the turbo made a pass and it spit water in the over flow.bad head gasket from explosion i guess, took head off num 2 cylinder scuffed, piston is ok and so are the others,just a costly learning curve,but i just look at the brite side 310lbs suited ,street turbo,15lbs of boost with a 144 60' i went 8.48 at 171mph!!!! have been as fast as 175mph.

Lady at Millenium just quoted me $525 retail to bore and plate my ZRX cylinders! Thank god Kurt set me up for dealer pricing long ago so I don't have to pay that! I miss dealing with him. The couple I've spoken with there lately just don't have the knowledge he did.
