Well, all I can say is take your bike to a compotent shop that can adjust your suspension and maybe have a leg in racing to understand your needs.

Good luck.

jrob,
what part of canada are you from? maybe go to Loring Maine (in 3 weeks) or Wilmington Ohio (in 2 weeks) and see how the LSR folk do it.

jrob,
please do come to Loring, you'll have a ball. A good portion 0f the LSR braintrust will be there.

Look for my black Denali towing a 7x12' gray enclosed trailer flying Texas and TeamFatAss flags.
Green hayabusa.

People say that when they meet me, i'm not the asshole I come accross as on the forums.
(i'm worse)

Any modern Z rated tire should be fine. But we have seen excessive tire spin when the surface temps are under 60.

what were the conditions when you saw the tire spin?

well at maple grove last friday a friend on his mid 9 sec gixxer1000 was spinning all the way down the track. it was a older shinko u soft.
have you overheated the tire on that r1 to the point of blueing it a couple of times. every time you cycle a tire it gets harder. a couple of good hard mountain rides with not enough pressure will do that. then you have a hard rear tire.
i blued my connies tires last year even with 38psi.

are you extended real far?

i dont really know if i have overheated my tire but when i try that last year is was with a pilot power at around 38psi and not extended.
right now i'm extended around 8in from stock but i havnt made topspeed pass extended...i'm tinking it should be better for topspeed pass to be stock wheel base but i really dont know...
thanks

when you entend your bike it puts the tire away from some weight and there is a different set of suspention settings .
if your tire is old and has been heated up a couple of times it could be harder than normal.
but sticking the tire out there 8 inches may be making it harder to get traction.
i my self would make sure the bike is level. not ass high. maybe ass low would be a place to start though the lsr gang will say that may not be optimal for airos.
softer spring rates help and less compression dampening and more rebound to let it squat under acceleration to transfer weight .
it will be fun to mess around with. do not get busted. and go to loring with a fresh tire and a open mind to what you think to what may happen.
you will have fun everyone should try it once.
