bike only runs pig-rich. problem!?

2002 zx12r
end of last race season i put new injectors, ngk cr10e plugs, 13.5:1 pistons, and degreed the stock cams 106/108. exhaust opening early to accommodate nitrous. only got to run it twice at the track on motor. ran horrible. down about 10mph at the same afrs as before. idling rough, and misfiring at almost any cruising rpm. at idle it liked being super rich to stay smooth.

now i started over with a zero map and auto tune. so starting super rich
(oversize injectors) and then keeping track as it leans itself out to a more "ideal" afr.

here is the weird part, when it was zeroed out and reading 11.5-12.2afr, it ran great. as it started leaning out approaching 12.3-12.5afr, the misfiring issue came back.

so the long of it short is: is this ok? or did something skip out of place during reassembly? do i just keep it indicating a rich afr, or is it time to recheck cam timing? would i shoot for an even more lean afr when spraying such as 10.8 to:1

definitely got my jimmies in a rustle trying to figure this one out. any input would be very much appreciated!!!

12.5 seems way too rich to be causing lean misfire, I think there is something else going on. Can you get it on a dyno and replicate the AFR? Can you go back to the stock injectors as a test?

unable to do a stock injector test.

it might just be due to such a low duty cycle combined with big injectors. add in my altitude which needs even less fuel again, and i'm starting to think that may be what is causing the problem. track has a test and tune wednesday. i'll try doing some more testing then.

if i can do some passes starting rich and then see how the mph responds as i bring it closer to 12.8:1 on motor, it should give me some more insight as to how the bike wants to run.

also my bike acted stupid when the rear atmospheric sensor went bad. it leaned out on the dyno though. the iap made it flakey.
check the cam timing again. maybe try stock non adjustible stock setup cams.
i put a "pulling"truck together with a old engine we did 20 years ago and it could not take a tent stake out of the ground with a shoe string. no matter what carb settings or timing.
found out on the dots had it at 112 and it was suspose to be 103 to 104.
wow what a difference in torque and cranking compression went up a good bit also.

got back from the track only got two passes. pulled a 1.62 sixty foot launching at 5500. trapped 139 at about 12:1 afr with a 9.8 ET. best mph last year was 145 at 12.8:1 afr, 1.50 sixy 9.6 et and 8500rpm on the launch

it runs crappy while cruising, but while accelerating it cleans up. can also run leaner too when under load.

gonna go out to the track again friday and see what happens as i get it closer to 12.8:1

talked to the supplier today. i guess the dye they use in the manufacturing process isn't the best. gonna get them shipped out today and inspected.
