Anytime, my friend. Having raced at both maxton and texas, I'd say the spirit of the event is definately that of the Texas Mile.

The track surface is PERFECT, you'll love it.

Mike,
you gotta come back to Texas; participants have been limited to 160 for a while, but the number of spectators has gone thru the roof and the organizers keep adding amenities.
It has turned into the premier Mile event and keeps getting better.

Sal, what is it that you did to your bike to make it go so fast? What kind of gas do you run in them? Can you do the same thing to car motors? Are you ever coming back to the texas mile? Sorry to get off topic, forgive me.

Brendasue,
I have been racing street mototrcycles 9/10'ths of a mile since 1995 jumping bike to bike every week wich gave me alot of seat time and years of picking up
experience on how to go fast solo or when racing someone 9/10'ths style.
As far as the bike goes as the same as all the others it is getting the right
(complete package) we went thru a couple of intake and exhaust cams now 3 different ported heads and its in the setup, we just dont build a bike and put it on the dyno
and go with what we see or follow the next guys lead from shop ABC
We do all our own R&D and only believe what I see in the real world as I always done since 1995 doing back to back testing using our dataloggers and GPS.
Gas nothing special we used Sunoco 100 GT at Maxton in our ZX12 other wise
like I ran at Texas mile Sunoco 104 GT plus.
Car motors I do the heads only Mitsubishi EVO cars just like a big motorcycle head
those heads are on cars runing high 8's and low 9's only four cylinders.
Texas mile if Karl goes faster than me.
So bottom line is to go fast you need
Experience
Good (smart) tune.
Well built complete complimenting package.
There is always more in the motorcycle you just have to find it !!

Sal, thanks so much! And I understand the experience part after running at the Texas mile for the first time on my bike, which could definately go faster than I could. Before that I thought that I could go as fast as the bike could go. Now I know that with time and more experience I might be able to go as fast as it can. I just want to get to try a lot more often!

Nah, if Golliad Airport isn't sold off, I'll probably be running the 12 out there in March.

Dr.Gary, good to hear you'll be coming down!

Karl, in that picture, we run from right to left.

Oh, and I totally agree with the whole "keeping the 12" thing. With as much time and money we all sunk into these bikes, it's going to be very difficult to make the switch to another.

Yep, LOL. The Snow skipped us in Austin and headed straight down to Houston!

Sure would be nice if it were sunny and 80F in Miami the whole week before and then a nice cold front would blow through Sat evening.........................Maybe drop it down to 65F.LOL

Man I still have some stuff left to do to get the bike ready, it's going to be a chilly night.

Ok now I am throwing myself on the floor kicking and screaming like a kid in the grocery store. Pity party at my house on the 3rd of January. Kicking and screaming feels pretty good but the floor is cold and it doesnt seem to be getting me anywhere. I guess I should try manifesting for a while then holding my breath as a last resort. I dont really mind being green with envy as long as it is Kawasaki green! Go TFA!!!!!!!

Sorry BrendaSue, if I do manage to go the wife and kids will be in tow. It'll be real tight and my kids are not as well behaved, or travelled as MadMikes are.

BrendaSue, get that bike ready for March 2010 Texas Mile, you never know it could be the last one.
