Well my Boss's the owners but he's suppose to let me tinker with one. I'm starting off bone stock, lowered and -1 up front if I can get a sprocket. Then well start with pipe and get it on the Dyno. To be honest, it's the only thing, that I really wanted to try since I've been at the Honda dealership, other than the 1960cc VTX were also building.
Hey get to ride it and not pay notes on it.(LOL) I guess it's one of the breaks of being in bike sales,it makes up for the slow months.

Saw a 1000RR put down 144rwhp today completely stock. Along with a 10R that made 146rwhp stock, and 149.8 with a Muzzy slip on and PC3.
Had my 12R put up there and made 162.

The CBR had a nice power curve, as did the 10R, atleast compared to the peaky R1.
The 10R didn't pick up much peak power with the slip on and PC3, but picked up alot through the mid range.

Rick, I wanted to ask him to put his R1 up there as well... but didn't want to insinuate that it wasn't making "the numbers", lol. I mean, the only reason I had my bike run was to have a same day, same machine comparison.
...but to think that the R1 is making more hp than even the magazines ? All I saw was the 161hp graph (mind you, the bike belongs to the dyno owner, lol). It does have a huge hole in the power band. At one point, around 6-7k, the CBR made 15hp more than the R1. He layed the graphs over top of each other.
...and after riding the 10R, I can say I'm perfectly happy with my 12R, and I'm not ready to jump on the HYPEr bike bandwagon just yet. It was very cool, but I felt like I was riding a toy... albeit a fast, wheelie prone, tank slapping toy, lol. It definitely needs a damper. It was pretty cool though, very solid. ____________ Some day, you're going to run out of some days

I here ya,
I guess he got a strong one! I was surprised when he told me the 161 his R1 made last month and even more his disappointment overall. No low or mid range at all. Killer top end though. I guess those big 45mm tb's might have something to do with that? Prolly be a nice advantage when turbos start popping up. I got my bored tb's back yesterday and hope it don't kill my mid range too much. I Will know next Saturday after installing and remapping.
I do beleive his numbers are accurate and not inflated to toot his horn any. If I rememebr correctly when he showed me the dyno graphs on his prior bikes (all stock) an 01 1k he had 141, his busa 153, his 02 R1 136 all right in line with what most folks dyno around here for these bikes stock.
I'm sure the 10 will make some more after a good break in. But was a lil surprised with the number and the good air yesterday. Jay, being a good 30-40lbs lighter than most riders will give some fits.

Not doubting, just seemed odd that stock for stock the R1 made 15hp more than the 10R, broken in or not.
...and after Akra full pipe, billet basket, and custom mapped PC3, my bike made 170/95 at STMW after making 171/96 with the stock pipe, clutch and no PC3 on the same machine. I will say that during the runs yesterday, my a/f was all over the place. I'm wondering if my PC dumped the map Kevin made.

Jeff's dyno is always lower. Open room, no big er huge fans blowing at a million cpf and fresh air induction. A little more realistic condtions but produces lower numbers. PC3's ya never know... Best I made out there was 178, worst was 170 on a warm, humid day than dyno'd a month later in Deland on a even warmer day made 183. Funny thing, my bike seems to run the hardest when I made lower numbers. Go figure?
Looks like another delay on my bodywork. The lowers need yet another coat of clear. This is like number 5 with Imron clear. Shit, my cf bodywork is going to be heavier than the stock plastics with all them coats! The OPP bodywork was so thin and just soaks it up

Heh, yeah, I picked up atleast 3mph at the track so I KNOW it's making more power. Sometimes it's nice just to see the number... even though I preach all the time that it's just a number, lol.
Heh, if Jeff's dyno is low... I wonder what that R1 would put down somewhere else
Rick it may be heavier, but it looks pimp as hell, lol ____________ Some day, you're going to run out of some days

I guess all the magazines including MCN in england are wrong? I could understand a few hp difference but 12+???? Wonder what kind of fuel he was running? The r-1 looks good. But as far as i'm concerned, fuck a yamaha!

Well guys I got it out of the crate today, and it's now slammed. I called sprocket spec. and they said no sprockets availabe and no info. I'll try comparing other models and maybe I'll get lucky and get one that fits, it feels like it's geared really tall just taking it around the lot.
Got a whole 3.2 miles on it.Ordered akro slip-on and power comander today so well know in just a couple of weeks. We have a 2004 Dynojet dj250 with all the goodies. trying to get to the track Sunday.
Any predictions on the #'s or MPH?

I'll check with him on it, I don't quite rememeber the #'s
We have one that does bikes and atv's got the dual $2,500 fans that you could probably get something for 500 bucks or less and do the same.We have the air/fuel mon. and the eddie brake system. It's really nice. We've had several built xr50'S from 3hp to turbo bikes right at 350+ on it.

Just got back from a little 20 mile break-in ride.
This is a very nice handeling bike. Power feels good also.
Tranny Notchy, not like normal Honda.
Headed to track tommorrow, but this thing is geared really tall. I may not be able to leave on it, with that stk gear.
