i have 2000 zx12 with bad cases-will 2002 cases work -i no stator cover is different on the inside- what would be the process of making this work-because if it a headache i will just order 2000 model but i heard the 2002 oil holes are bigger an they are about 75.00 cheaper - thanks for any advice

John it will work the oil runners in the 2002 are bigger than the ones in the 2000 and the 01 other than that have fun.

ive never used anything other than 00 and 01 first hand, but i think the cases are basically the same besides slightly different oil pipes?
you may need a different stator? Nox?

I did not have to change anything on mines but the oil runners everthing else I went back with and also a 2001 crank lighten and balanced.

I do not know......
I have heard its all good.....
I am in the bad situation..., i have an 02, so I hear it would be bad ju ju for me to get early cases......
I am trying to stockpile right now, to build a 1290, with a hella head, and cams, and big compression, to run in Super Comp, at 72 inches with a 7 inch slick......, so I can slow it down and be easy on it to run the index.......,
But, I cant find a set of cases, might have to buy another used motor......., but, gotta go into the kids Jr. dragster and freshen it first........

what i know --- the different is ---
from year 00/01 --- to 02/-------
the oil pump -- the 02 modell oil pump goes ca. 2mm deeper inside the case
and the 02 modell has a fatter gear shift linkage ---- which come out if the case -- to mount the linkage of the footpeg

That may be true woppi but I went back with everything 01 except the oil runners.

I bought used cases with runners, but I used everything from my 2000 engine also.
I know of a 2002 that was rebuilt with 2000 cases, he didn't say anything about case mods.
Let us know how it works out.
