gauges
Hey guys i have a buddy that just bought an 03 zx12. Bike runs pretty good but the gauges work whenever they want. Sometimes they work great thent they just freeze then sometimes they just go all over the place. So we put another set of gauges on and they do the same thing. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

Had the same problem! In my case, it was the ground for the gauges. It took a while to find, but the ground is located on the left side of the crankcase, right next to the gear sensor. There is a group of wires that come out of the sensor, the ground is right next to it. About a quarter of a turn on the screw that the ground terminal is attached to fixed the problem, and it has never come back. Hope that helps!

I have been tracing wires and have found someone has hacked the harness all up. There is spliced wires everywhere and i found a couple of relays and stuff burnt up. I think I have most of it fixed but if the bike sits over night and you go turn key on it doesnt do self test and they are blank but if you turn key on and of 2 or 3 times everything works fine. Any more advice would be great thanks for the info.
