Intermittently doesn't start?
Just bought a 2000 ZX12r a couple of months back.It will start from cold no problem,every day no matter what the weather is like.It's just that sometimes when i park it up after a ride then try and restart it it will give maybe half a turn of the engine and won't fire,or it will do nothing at all when i hit the starter,or it will just start normally!I don't know if this is psychological but i feel if i leave it for a few minutes it will always start,maybe this is just coincidence?I've never been stuck anywhere with it yet as it always starts but i'd like to get to the bottom of it!Thanks.

battery voltage?
loose connections?
sulfated plates/ corroded terminals?
could be the solenoid taking a shit as well..
need more info or you may need to test and experiment.

I have the exact same problem with my 00... It happens to me in town where its been running hot and i park it up for a few mins - but like you say, it eventually starts..
I thought it maybe a battery, but cranks fine and fires on very cold mornings.. i'll replace it anyway
