NEW MUZZY EXHAUST INSTALLED

First post, but been reading for a while, excellent board.

Just installed a Muzzy exhaust system on my Mystic Black 2002 ZX-12r, what a difference and the sound is incredible. I know understand what everybody is talking about the flat spot around 2500-3000 rpms(should be fixed when i buy the pc3r).

One problem though, the pipe is a little too close to the lower fairing and the rear set, had to use washers to push the fairing away from the pipe and some heavy duty heat strips to keep the fairing from burning. Any one else have this problem.

Welcome to the board, man. I'm no longer the board newbie...whoohoo! Glad to hear you like your new pipe so much...I'm debating between Muzzy and Akro m'self. Did you do any of the stock pipe mods before you changed, or did you go directly from stock with cat and everything right into your Muzzy?

Please post a pic of your pipe on your bike when you can...I have the exact same color scheme and I'm curious how it looks. It would also be magic if you could grab a .wav file of it too, but that's probably too much to ask.

I didn't do any of the stock pipe mods, went for the full system. I chose the muzzy because of the sound and the price(full system for $511.00 from parts411.com). A couple of the guys I ride with have full muzzy systems and are happy with them.

As far as pictures and a sound file, I'll try to get some up soon.

Some riders have a prob with the MUZZY touching the fairing, some don't...I did on my 00'...found the hot-spot and just dremeled a relief there...its low enough that its not that noticable, especially with the dark paint on the lower...now on the 02's painted gold, it might be different, more noticable if you had to cut a relief....you'll like the sound, though...just remember to repack it when it gets too loud

clearance

have a black 02 just put a Full Muzzy system on it with a ti can, had way more than enough room between the fairing and midpipe...I have instaled an undertail from Graphicartmotodesign.com, have a CF rear hugger from Targa, PCIII from Dynojet, and a Throttlemeister throttle lock. I plan on adding a 2.5 degree timing advance, and dropping a tooth on the front, and going up one on the back.
