The performance gained is all dependant on the combo and the builder.

I've seen a 212rwhp 1270 that couldn't break 193mph with a former 12 year AMA superbike vet in the saddle, and I've seen a 205rwhp 1287 go 214mph in the standing mile.

The magic is in the cam selection/setup and headwork.

.... And everyone has their own opinion on what's best.

If you're looking to have a big bore 12 built, you want Ace Performance. Fastest big bore 12's anywhere... Track proven, not just dyno tested like most other guys. Bring the bike down to get tuned, you get a GPS'd run to show you REAL gains... Not a dyno sheet that proves nothing.

Prices are lower than most too!

Go to ace performance.com for price list on all engine packages.

For me an increase from 10,750 to the limiter would be great.. The best gains (cubic inch per cubic inch) was a 1270, with oversize valves, and webcams. This combo made 205 RWHP at 11,600 still climbing! If the rev limiter was increased it would have continued to climb. Improving VE from 10700 to 11600 is important..

I just PM'd this question to Shiphteey but I may as well ask it here too. I want to do a 1287 kit bit I understand that guys were having gasket problems (blowing them). I'm a street rider, not a drag racer. Were these gaskets letting loose on drag bikes or just street bikes? Thanks.

Thanks Scott. I appreciate it. I think I'm going to take the extra cc's and go with the 1287. I did a lot of going back and forth bewteen the 1270, 1272 and 1287 but I think it's going to be the big one. Thanks.

It has be a while but I believe I went with the recommendation of APE. Which was slightly greater then stock.
The head had the exhaust ports enlarged to match the gasket similarly with the intake.
Other then that ....nothing ......still have not degreed the came....still running STRONG.
I am having way to much FUN
