Brake pads

most car manufactures recommend front or rear disc pad replacement at 2mm from the wear sensors, some at about 1.6mm, They come with an average of about 9mm when new, I just bought brake pads for my 2003 zx12r which i have replaced before, but never really read the packing, and it states "do not ride your motorcycle if the pads are worn so that the friction material is below 2mm or one eighth of an inch in thickness. The sad part of all this is that the pads are only 3mm thick, they only allow for 1mm of wear. Now that sucks ass!!
