Muzzy 12r -00 full exhaust to -05 model fitment?
Greets,
I managed to get Muzzy 00-01 full exhaust system.. model number 141201-00.
When I queried Muzzy's about it's fitment to -05 kawi they said:
"No, it will not fit your 05 ZX-12R.
The 00-01 model have a much larger belly pan. The 02-05 model's belly pan fits up closer to the engine."
Anyone have experimented similar situation (to fit 00-01 exhaust to 03-> model) ?
If so, is it possible to mod lower fairing to fit exhaust or so?
Thanks,
P

If you cut the fairings, like most people do for drag racing, it will fit.

Any idea how much cutting is required? Must I cut so much that it is clearly visible outside (when Im standing and looking to bike)?

But the 12 pipe will most likely hang alot lower than what the proper ZX14 race pipe will fit like!!!

Tried to fit exhaust today, seems to fit but 2-1 collector comes very close to lower fairing. Must use something to insulate it from pipe.

It's no big deal. Just run it a bit and see where it deforms the belly pan from the heat, then just use dremel or hi speed grinder with a router bit to trim away the part that's melted. Do a nice job and it looks factory.
