Swingarm removal, new chain installation, sprockets???

I know there are some of you guys that have removed the swingarm on your 12R for various reasons. I am about to remove mine because I need to put a new chain on, and I intend on running the exact same chain because I've got almost 20K out of the stocker. That's great considering the abuse it has saw with all the clutch wheelies and other acts of hooliganism. Anyway, I have a few questions.

Anything in particular that I need to be aware of, a tip that may save me from gettin' some skinned knuckles, or something that might save me some time?

If the sprockets look good, should I still replace them since I am putting a new chain on. Instinct tells me I should, but I'd like to hear what some of you guys think. The rear sprocket is the stocker, but has only a few thousand miles on it. I ran a 47t for the majority of the almost 20k that's on the bike. The 17t front has probably 17k on it, it's a ZX11 D model I believe. It wasn't that expensive, so I'm figuring I should definitely replace the front. But then again it may look ok. I just have to pull the cover and look it over.

Anyone have a part number handy for the factory Kawasaki 17t??? I ran an aftermarket 17t, but it seemed to make the bike "buzz" a bit more. I noticed the Kawasaki sprocket had some rubber on it, I'm guessing it was to cut down on vibration, harmonics or whatnot.

Any tips will be appreciated as I have a few things I gotta do to the bike this winter. I plan on getting started pretty soon.

New chain (and sprockets???)
Fresh plugs
New clutch
Front brake pads
Rear brake pads
Flush the radiator

On another note temps were in the 60s yesterday and I took the bike out for a short blast. As always it was running strong and puttin' a huge smile on my face. Can't wait to get her shod with some Pilot Powers and have some good brakes again.

You have to remove the rear shock, but thats not a bad thing to do. Otherwise it's straight forward if You have the right tools. The swingarm hexbolt is quite big and different on A and B models. At the same time it's good to inspect and lube the bearing good and do some cleaning there. And also lube the swingarm pilot bolt so it won't get stucked. You may need airgun to remove the frontsprocket but You probably knew that. I would put new sprockets for sure. Maybe the back will last if it really is that good but why risk it?

Yeah, I've had the shock off and it is no big deal. Got the hex wrench covered too. I guess that's one plus to having a bike for so long. You damned sure learn your way around when it comes to working on it.

Damn, a brother doesn't tune in one day and this is the love he gets.

Fuck all you sloppy whores with the big end, I know that's how y'all like it anyways, especially Markgay. He'd back up on a fire hydrant.

Also, I'd like to point out that I don't own any big-assed redneck belt buckles. That's for the wannabe cowboys and bull riders. So you worthless bastards need to back up and punt.

That was some stupid shit!!!!!!!!!!!! But it was pretty damned funny, even if you boys are 3 or 4 samidges short of a picnic. Dumb bastards..........
